Metro Service launched services on Copenhagen Metro M1 & M2 since 2002 and provides operations, maintenance and customer service. In 2017, Metro Service submitted their rebid for an additional O&M Contract with the city for an additional 5years in conformance with EU tendering rules.
Horizons Partners supported Metro Service in analyzing the existing operations and developed a suite of 14 technical plans including:
- Asset performance and renewals
- Passenger capacity improvements
- Incident management and service recovery
- Passenger Information and the passenger experience
- Special Event planning and management
- Coordination of maintenance with operations
- Optimization of maintenance
- Maintenance Quality Assurance and cleaning
- Asset management and life-cycle cost analysis
- New technologies in predictive maintenance
- Supply chain and obsolescence management
DUBAI METRO & TRAMWAY – UAE
Bringing a world-class transit system to the highest standards of performance and cost efficiency
RTA, Dubai transport authority, tendered out the operation and maintenance of its metro and tram system in 2020.
Horizons Partners supported one of the bidders in:
- Developing all Technical Plans,
- Developing the O&M Cost Model and organizing competition among local contractors,
- Identifying unique selling points and strategies to convince the RTA and win the bid, like our partners had done successfully in 2008
WASHINGTON METRO (SILVER LINE) – USA
Supporting the partial privatization of the operation and maintenance of Washington Metro
WMATA, Washington DC transit authority, initiated a privatization process of the operation and maintenance of the silver line. The authority wanted to set a benchmark for performance and efficiency for this line connecting the city center to Dulles airport.
Horizons Partners supported the consortium formed by Hitachi Rail and Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane in:
- Developing all 55 Technical Plans,
- Developing the O&M Cost Model,
- Identifying a winning strategy to optimize costs while satisfying all stakeholders
The consortium was declared preferred bidder, but the tender was cancelled after.
